Last Saturday evening, Cegep Champlain St. Lawrence honored 4 players for their contribution on and off the ice during their career as Lions hockey players. Guillaume Kelhetter, Mathieu Champagne, Francois Fortin and Laurent Dumont will be graduating this year and were therefore playing their last home game for the Lions. Dumont, who was injured and did not take part in the game, will be continuing his career at Concordia University, studying in Actuarial Sciences, while playing for the Stingers.
Unfortunately, the Lions, who were facing the first-place Alma Jeannois, went on to lose the game by a score of 6 to3. The Lions next games will be this coming Easter weekend, as they will be competing in the Provincial qualifying tournament in Trois-Rivieres. The Lions will be competing against Alma, Sorel and Andre-Laurendeau for two of the four spots available for the Provincial Championships that will be held in Sherbrooke on April 10 and 11.
