John-Abbott College - Student Innovation Gala

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC – April 24, 2019 – We are happy to announce that Eric Molnar and Devin Esposito were the grand prize winners at the first ever Student Innovation Gala held at CollègeGérald-Godin on Thursday, April 18.

       

John Abbott's Sandbox, Vanier's LaunchBox and Gérald-Godin's élan, three student innovation and social entrepreneurship centres, joined forces to create a joint pitch event. The top two teams from each institutions "local" competition moved on to the Student Innovation Gala. With their eyes on the grand prize, of 1,500$,Teams pitched their project to an audience, of family, friends, members of the community, and a panel of three judges.

John Abbott College Director of Student Services, Dennis Waide: “Events like this allow students to expand their knowledge and to develop their entrepreneurial skills that is so important on the job market today.”

Lifelong skills such as team work, collaboration, communication, and time management are develop and polished during the long process of putting together a successful pitch.
