John Abbott College Foundation Recognizes Students at Annual Scholarship, Bursary & Awards Ceremony

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, June 16, 2014 – Following the tradition of lending support to the students of John Abbott College, the Foundation presented bursaries and scholarships worth close to $50,000 June 12 at its Annual Scholarship, Bursary & Awards Ceremony.

Held in the popular Casgrain Theatre, this occasion was the chance for recipients to meet those responsible for the financial gifts face to face, many of whom it was the first time to put a face to the name. The awards are provided by private donors, businesses, industry associations, community organizations, and College employees. In doing this, the JAC Foundation helps the College reach its objective of maintaining accessibility and promoting academic persistence at the CEGEP level.

Newly appointed JAC Foundation Executive Director Mr Barth Gillan presents to Scholarship award winners Sebastien Molina Calvo (Science) and Karleen Muhlegg (Honours Social Science)

The John Abbott College Foundation wholly supports the College’s mission statement which is to provide an excellent education for our students within a stimulating learning environment that will enhance their development and potential for success in society. It has presented over $150,000 to students over the last 3 years.
